Principles of Oral Communication
Description: Lecture, four hours. Enforced requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Examination of foundations of communication and public speaking. Consideration of number of basic theories related to study of communication and development of skills to enable composition and delivery of speeches in accordance with specific rhetorical concepts. Improvement of ability to analyze, organize, and critically think about communicative messages while becoming better equipped to articulate ideas. P/NP or letter grading.

Winter 2020 - Great class! You are assigned three speeches to make, and a final paper. Everyone in the class is really supportive of one another and we all became quite close and open with one another, this made the public speaking aspect a lot easier. Dr. Dee is an amazing lecturer and I learned a lot from him. This is an amazing class to take and incredibly useful as well. The work is not overwhelming by any means and I would 100% recommend anyone take this class. If you're an international student or a STEM major, or even if you feel confident with public speaking, still take this class. It's amazing!
