Don is a great professor that really alters your perspective on drawing and constantly pulls you out of your comfort zone.
Even if you have never drawn in your life it doesnt matter -- this course will help you become a better artist if not technically then intellectually.
Definitely a recommended professor.

Don Suggs is the best art teacher I have had. His opinions during critique impressed me every time.

don ROCKS. i LOVE him! he's intelligent, very kind, constructive criticism (though i wish he would criticize more harshly at times) and easy grading. he's always around and willing to help... and just THE BEST :)

don's really funny and the crits are good; everyone loves him so much, and that makes everyone else, newcomers included, love him too. he's always around, always has a twinkle in his eye, can turn every comment into a constructive comment and make it sound positive like you're wonderful... he's so great!

don is the BEST. he truly allows you to grow as an artist. he'll give you just the right amount of push you need to excel. i totally recommend taking don.

I learned so much from Suggs in my drawing class, that I HAD to take painting with him also. I learned so much, he literally opens your eyes to see things you wouldn't have seen before. It's awesome, I had a great time, lectures are long, but they are interesting and helpful. Take a class with him! see for yourself.

take ANYTHING this man teaches!!!
don is incredible and amazing and wonderful!
not only did i learn about my art, i learned about myself in his class....he actually makes you want to creat and create and create!

don gave me a renewed faith in myself and my work, and really encouraged me to puch myself in ways i had never thought of doing artistically. he expresses personal interest in every student in the class, and gives attention and help to every single one.

anyone, art major or just interested in art, should take don's class. it doesn't matter if you've never painted or drawn before, he'll get you to do some pretty amazing things.

don is the best thing that has happened to me (and my artwork) since i've been at UCLA. he's an inspiration as a teacher, and i loved every single minute of every class i've ever had with him.

he has a great sense of humor (tons of wry sarcasm...he's very witty) and his critiques are probably some of the funniest things i've ever been part of. not only does he give you amazing comments on your work, he also says things which would have the class rolling with laughter.

INCREDIBLE PROFESSOR. DON'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS, JUST TAKE ANYTHING HE TEACHES!!!!!

he's brilliant. he's fun. he's funny. and he'll teach you more than you ever thought imaginable.

Fun fun fun!!! I spend more time on my art homework than on all my other classes combined; Don will make you WANT to do your work and you won't even notice that your sketchbook has squandered your entire weekend.
