Honestly, I only attended a few of her lectures before realizing I could just teach myself from the lecture notes. I found the lectures to be fine, but the notes just made it a lot easier to teach myself and work the examples. There were homeworks and weekly quizzes that were pretty short and pretty easy. 24 hour exams which were also pretty easy, except for the final which was considerably more difficult than the rest but not too bad. I highly recommend her, the workload was light and I still feel like I learned the material decently well.

The professor is female like the other comment said. The class was pretty easy for me. I barely used the textbook and only then for practice problems. The homeworks are short. There are quizzes, two midterms, and a final that were pretty straightforward. There were only a few difficult problems. Overall, the online lectures were pretty dry and boring but the professor does answer questions well.

Super easy A. The material was pretty easy to learn even without watching the lectures. She uploads the lecture notes which mirrors her lecture videos exactly. I would recommend this class since the tests and quizzes were extremely easy and chill.

This was probably the easiest math class I have taken at UCLA. It helped that it was during COVID and that the professor was accommodating - she gave at least 24 hours for quizzes, midterms, and finals, which were all open note. The homework, quizzes, and exams were all pretty easy, and the lectures were pretty straight-forward and not overly confusing. My main gripe with the class was that it was almost too easy and surface-level. I kinda felt that I didn't really have a full understanding of the material since most of the emphasis was on application, with little focus on the actual intuition or reasoning behind a lot of what we did. TLDR: If you want an easy class you don't want to worry too much about, take this prof. If you want an interesting prof that challenges you so you can have a full understanding about class concepts, look for someone else.

33B with Prof Wang is definitely an extremely easy class, but you really don't learn anything. She doesn't give any intuition whatsoever, but rather puts a bunch of information on the table for you to jot down.

I don’t know how she is a professor. The lectures are the incredibly painful and I’ve had to stop going because she is so hard to understand. I’ve heard the tests are all easy though, so if you want an easy A, take this class. If you want to actually learn absolutely anything, stay away!

I learned absolutely nothing from lecture. I am someone who will go to lecture even if I don't need to and if the professor isn't teaching anything. After the second week I could not stand going to lecture and my TA was doing such a good job of explaining everything in the discussion (shoutout Sojitra, you taught me the entire course). I saw the reviews before taking this class but I only had 33A and B left and I wanted to be done w/ my lower division math classes.

This course is a disgrace to UCLA as a teaching institution. I actually learned nothing and this spring quarter during physics I had to solve a second order D.E and had to pause for 3-5 minutes before I could even come up with the start to the solution. It's actually embarrassing that UCLA students don't learn Differential equations because of her. The course itself is relatively easy and if you read through the notes or find a youtube playlist that explains it you will follow along. But there really is no need to do any of that when she reuses test questions like crazy. Our midterm was copy paste the Fall 2023 midterm and our final had a BUNCH of questions that were in old finals (there was only question that I had not seen before, and it was really really easy). I'm not saying this as a math prodigy. I am usually a A- or B+ student and this class was just ridiculously easy if you did the HW and read through the notes (the final was a bit hard but like I said, she reuses qs like crazy). Just for context, I finished the 50 minute midterm in 6 minutes and I finished the 3 hour final in 50 minutes.

EASIEST CLASS EVER (if you do not care about learning the content in the class and only want to get an A). Professor Wang does not know how to teach, but then again, she does not expect much from her students. It's hard to miss points on the midterm... most of the class finished it and turned it in within 15 minutes. The final is also not too bad. She puts extremely easy questions and will almost always tell you what questions will be on the exams. If you want to get an A, 100% take this class (do not even look at other professors). But, if you want to learn from a dedicated, helpful, and insightful professor, you are better off with another, harder professor.

Ppl overhate her teaching, I felt that she was really good at explaining the concepts with examples. Ppl also say you don't learn anything in this class, which is also not true. You learn probably 80-90% of what any other 33B class does, you just don't have to apply what you learn to difficult problems (HW, quizzes, and exams all have very easy problems similar to lecture examples). This class was a super easy A, but I also learned the content and Wang was a much better teacher than ppl say. 1000% take this class whether you need it for future classes or not.
