I really enjoyed his lectures. You can tell that he values his students, even if his class is a little bit hard. He's very helpful and fun to listen. to.

Not the best, not the worst. His lectures are pretty bad--he goes really fast and for some reason assumes that the class knows a lot about materials science already (not really sure why), but the material in the class isn't so bad. It's definitely something you can learn from reading the book. That being said...make sure you have the book! If you do the reading and go through the questions (and answers), you should be more than fine. He takes his exam/quiz questions straight from the ones in the book. He also uploads the book's solutions to the class website. The one really messed up thing about his tests is that he has a section of multiple choice (for which there can be multiple answers) and if you don't get it EXACTLY right you will not get any points for it. Some of those questions are really random too. But not to worry...your classmates will get them all wrong, just like you will. He sets the curve at a B, so in the end you'll end up with a good grade (even if you learn nothing).

Super nice and smart guy, but not the best teacher. His lectures are kinda all over the place and he explains things really vaguely. I would always be confused until I read the book. His tests were super difficult (He and the other MSE 104 prof. shared the same tests. I think they were hers.) but the curve was pretty generous. I did so-so in the class but ended up with a B+! Fair grader in the end. I wouldn't really recommend him, but he's not that bad I guess.
