He has a strong spanish accent, and he expects you to have a strong background in math...he's pretty easy though if you listen well and understand the principles.

ECON 102 Submitted Sept. 22, 2002 Grade Received: N/A

He's cool, His exams are just based on the lecture notes and hwk's, so if you do those you'll get an A for sures. And if you got questions, he tries really hard to help you out during office hours which is really cool unlike most other econ professors.

he's really awesome!! does not try to trick you. Just do the homeworks. His midterm and final were easier than his homeworks. The curve is very generous too.

Riascos is a nice professor, very intelligent and reasonable. I took econ 192 which was difficult but he gave study questions and review material that made the exams easier. It is difficult material but he understands that it is difficult and is willing to help you.

Well organized lectures that could save you time from reading textbook. Tests are reasonable. He is a young nice guy.

Professor Riascos is probably one of the most organized and brilliant professors I've had at UCLA. I was intimidated by hearing stories about Econ 11 and stuff. But his class proved me wrong. I was worried about midterms and the final but I ended up doing pretty well. Just go to lecture, do his homework sets, and he actually talks about lecture stuff. I went to his office hour once and it was helpful. There's no doubt the guy is very intelligent and CAN teach well. I like his accent.

His accent did not bother me at all. His lectures were very prepared and I got good notes from his classes. I also liked that he effectively used the web site. I went to some of his office hours with some other students, and he took time to make sure we truly understood the material. The final was a bit difficult though.

He has a really strong accent, and I couldnt understand anything in the class...he also didnt know much economics. He had a hard time figuring out the problems he posted himself...he was by far the worst teacher I had! I had to stop going to class, because I realized that his lectures were absolutely ineffective.

If you know Math, his class is soo easy. As long as you are good at Math, his accent does not matter at all.

ECON 102 Submitted April 24, 2003 Grade Received: N/A

He is a very nice professor and his class is really easy. Make sure you know how to do all the problem sets before taking the exams. I usually get B's and C's for Econ classes, but I ended up getting an A+ for his class. I highly recommend.
