All Ratings and Reviews for Bruce Rothschild
Horrible teacher. Got his examples wrong all the time. There's a reason the only times more than thirty people showed up to class were midterms and when homework was due. Also despite what other reviews from earlier terms claimed he provided no practice tests for my class. Didn't help that my TA was inept too. I implore you, take it from someone else.
His lectures were a little unorganized, best to talk to him during office hours. His midterms were similar to homework problems. All in all a pretty descent professor
If you can learn well from reading the text, then his class will be easy. Both his midterms were not difficult. However, he did pull out some tricky shit on the final...integration, that is. Don't expect to learn much (if anything) from his lectures.
He is the worst professor I have ever had next to Pang...I was one of those that hadn't taken calc in high school so I FAILED, had to take it over again and got a B...trust me don't take him. He's the worst of the worst.
He's a bad lecturer. He didnt really help until the last week of lecture when he started doing actual examples and told us what he was doing. Many times he would write stuff and I would have no idea what was going on. Although he's not too good at teaching, his hw and tests are easy compared to other classes. Get yourself a tutor and you ll be fine. Also go to office hours because he gives you points for it
Professor Rothschild is really nice. He is a kind person and it makes me sad that everyone is bashing on him. yes his lectures arent GREAT and yes he is a terrible lecture but to go as far as to say he is dumb?... who do you think you are? It doesnt seem like it but he is organized and has a style of teaching. I admit that my Tutor is probably the only reason why I passed the class with an A- . I recommend this class because IT IS EASY and in the end if you need help your TA tries to help out and well its a GE and it fairly easy so take it.
Professor Rothschild, while a decent math teacher, is extremely boring. I understand that math isn't exactly a riveting subject (to us north campus majors, at least), but Rothschild takes boring to a whole new level. He is a nice guy, and I feel bad when people are loud. Fortunately, this only occurs on Fridays due to the fact that Friday is the only day anyone attends class (for the sake of the weekly quiz). There is, however, one redeeming quality about Math 2 - the T.A., John. You may be bored in lecture, and you may even be bored in discussion, but rest assured, your eyes won't be if John's your T.A. (actually, he's really knowledgable and helpful, too...but I digress...). Though he's easy, avoid Rothschild if possible.
professor rothschild was a really nice guy. his class was easy and i didn't find his lectures dry at all.
Real nice gentle man. I got 100% on my first midterm, failed miserably on the 2nd, did good on the final and recieved an A. It's a fairly easy class, i didn't go to lecture most of the time, everything you need to know is in the book. Go to the disc sections, ask the TA to do any problems you don't understand because the homework is graded.
He was horrible. He'd get off on tangents during lecture, spending 20 minutes on a problem and then erasing it and telling us we didn't need to know it or it was the way NOT to do it. His exams sometimes had nothing to do with the assigned homework, which was very frustrating. However, he does grade fair and the class overall was easy. Yeah, and the T.A. John is really cool (I don't know about hot though).
