I have only had Professor Preda for about 2 weeks now and I think that he is a wonderful mathematics professor as well as a wonderful and caring person. He is really concerned about the students and the way they learn. He doesn't cram a bunch of formulas in a student's mind but rather explains all the processes and is consistent, concise, and clear in his lectures. He holds open office hours and is a very approachable person. He seems like a very patient and dedicated professor and while his English may not be the best, one must cut him some slack; It is admirable that he has only been teaching in the United States for a year and he is able to speak English at such a proficient level. His manner of conveying information is very understandable and much appreciated. I can confidently say that I have thoroughly enjoyed Mathematics 31B with Professor Preda thus far and I am very optimistic about the rest of this quarter!

He rushed through the end thus making the final REALLY HARD--yet he still put everything he skipped on the final anyway. I got a C & I studied A LOT for this class.

preda was SUPER nice and very very passionate about math. all he wants is for his students to learn and understand the material. i'm a north campus major though and math is pretty hard for me- his lectures were really face paced and i hard to follow. i usually had to read the book later and then reread the lecture to understand it. i ended up taking it pass/no pass because i thought i was going to get a C. i passed the class but i had to work pretty hard since math isn't my thing. if you're good at math, you will do fine and preda is a great professor.

This professor will make you feel really smart when you take 3C, although that is probably because the material is so easy. He gives you practice tests before the two midterms that mirror exactly what the tests will be. With minimal studying you can get 100% no problem. There a few homework problems each week-super easy. Take this for an easy A.

Preda is the most awesome professor ever ever ever in the history of ever!!! I love him! I hate math, but he totally makes class fun and he really cares about us understanding what he's teaching. He's funny too! He has a freakin cool Romanian accent and he's just sooo cool to be around!

preda= badass in math and great professor. AND he played pro soccer in france!!?? i told him, "so lets play" and he said "you get your 7, i got mine." but seriously preda is one of the best professors that actually cares about his students and wants them to learn math so they dont messed up in upper level courses. take him if you have the chance!!

This man is amazing. He always picks people to come up to the board because he believes in interactive learning. He's Romanian and crazy and so funny and amazing. Believe the reviews because they're all too true. He says "coseenoos" instead of "cosine," just to warn you when he says it and you don't know what he's talking about. But I got an A in an otherwise hard class.... Yay yay!

He's a very nice guy who wants to be your friend rather than your professor. His tests are easy and he doesn't try to trick you. However, he goes through a lot of proofs in class and always asks students to volunteer and help him do problems/proofs etc which probably slows down the lectures. I heard in 31B he taught too slowly and ended up cramming 3 weeks of material into the last 3 days of lecture, but this quarter he managed to get up to the last section we were supposed to cover but not quite finish the section.
