Get past exams, and you'll ace the course. Don't expect to learn anything from him, but do self-study.

Basically there is no need to go to any of his lectures as you probably won't learn anything from it. All you need to do is to study his previous exams and the course reader two nights before the exam.

But make sure you remember when the exams are and show up on these days! (there are 3 in-class exams) Don't skip every lecture and ................ then accidentally skip the exam as well.

I didn't learn one bit of accounting in this class. Every lecture consisted of him putting his course reader up on the projector and arrogantly telling us stories about his past careers and jobs.

While this review is kind of pointless because I have heard that Litt is retiring after summer, I still would like to share to my experience. Litt is by far the WORST prof I have ever had. On the first day of class he seemed very cool/funny, but as the quarter progressed it was quite evident that he had no regard for our learning. Students in this class basically had to teach themselves the entire course. Every lecture consisted of him arrogantly telling stories about his life and usually not teaching. On the occasions that he attempted to teach he basically read off of the course reader, which I could have done on my own. When trying to approach Litt for questions on tests he was not very able to provide decent explanations for the answers. Litt was also extremely rude and condescending towards multiple students, one of whom I believe complained about the situation to the department. Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed that this individual was allowed to remain at UCLA as I truly believe students deserve (and are paying for) MUCH BETTER than this.

Absolutely the worst professor ever. Do not take this class.

The professor only skims over his course reader without teaching any of the concepts. All he does is tell personal stories that are supposed to be examples and analogies. Unfortunately, those are not helpful for passing the test at all. The tests are multiple choice questions about things we never learned. On top of that, you cannot study on your own because his course reader and textbook are trash and unhelpful (he said so himself).

Lectures are a waste of time and you are left without a single resource from which to study. Therefore, you are set up to fail.

The professor did not care to fix his mistakes, which the students pointed out to him. When students tried to communicate with him, he said he was not going to change anything because he did not care! On top of that, he mocked the students and often made comments or jokes that are insulting to us.

Power has corrupted this professor, and the students are very angry that they have no choice but to fail.

Most pointless class I have taken at UCLA so far. Litt's lectures are essentially useless. He rambles on for an hour about stories that are hardly relevant to the material being discussed; I get more out of 1 TA discussion section than 2 weeks of Litt's lectures. The grade distribution is so skewed because 75% of the students have all the exams from previous years, and Litt is too lazy to create a new test, so he changes the date on the old ones and plays it off like it is something completely new. He tells you everything on the exams is in the course reader which is entirely untrue, and the majority of the class hardly learns anything except how to be resourceful about finding old tests. He has to know what goes on I just think he doesn't care, pretty sad if you ask me. If you want a lazy professor who doesn't care about his course or his students, take Litt, if you want to genuinely learn accounting and take a class that means something, take another professor. The material is not easy, but when you study a test the night before that you take the next morning, you'll do better than you deserve.
