Positive aspects
- nice and caring
- grades on individual basis (if you get better at writing or not)
- critical and detailed grading, but thorough
- great feed back on papers
- only two essays, no midterms or final
- small class

Negative aspects
- theme for writing is kind of boring
- late classes = falling asleep
- lectures are kind of boring, but its such a small class that you can't fall asleep & not look like a jerk

Overall, take the class it's easy, I got an A without too much effort. Reading is sometimes heavy, so just stay on top of things.

A charming, witty, warm professor. She is one of the few professors that is genuinely concerned about the welfare of her students. However, her class/lectures can drone and meander at times - even so, if you manage to follow her train of thought you gain a valuable piece of wisdom. A must-take, if not for GE credit, then for the rare privelege of being taught by one of the best professors at UCLA

Best professor at UCLA! She is easy to contact. Her grading is fair. There are no exams. Instead, a 15-20 page paper is written over the course. (few pages due per week to total 15-20 pages) Also, a requirement for the class is one-on-one meetings. So, when each section of the paper is submitted and corrected, Dr. Moyle holds meetings to provide feedback. Therefore, the students get the opportunity to thoroughly understand what they did wrong or right. Students actually learn valuable information from Dr. Moyle's class! Lastly, her reader provides step-by-step lessons on using the library resources. This is guaranteed to be helpful for finding sources to write papers in other classes.

I took her English 3 class inmy first quarter here and it definitely contributed to my success here at UCLA. She takes the time to get to know every student personally and she gives you a lot of individual attention in her office hours. In class she respects everyone's opinions and validates all points of view. I DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Moyle.

Dr. Moyle is one of the best teachers I've had in my four years at UCLA. Her Eng. 3 class on Immigration was super-enjoyable, super-engaging, and super-interesting. And best of all, the class, the workload, and the grading was very fair. I hate to see other students write "easy," cuz no class at UCLA is EASY. This isn't a rinky-dink school with rinky-dink profs. Moyle is "fair," or if you must, how about "not hard," but easy? Go back to community college if you want "easy."
Anyhow, TAKE HER and you'll be thankful for the rest of your UCLA career. She was one of the main reasons I left pre-med and bio and went into North campus. Thank God! And thank God for Geraldine Moyle. What a wonderful teacher; what a wonderful person.

NO, no , no. This class is quite far from tough. The topic I took with her was Immigration, which was a bit boring. This is an Easy A. As long as you turn in everything and take Dr. Moyle's advice ie. if she recommends you for tutoring in covel. Following her advice and her guidance with your paper will guarantee your A. About Prof. Moyle, she is the nicest teacher and most adorable person. She is so lively in class. It was a real pleasure being in her class. I am a biochemistry major and I found her very refreshing!!!!!!!!!

Moyle is a good proffesor. She knows what she's talking about but tries to be funny and nobody laughs. At times she can get really boring, the times I fell asleep was when she gave lectures. For those in the cluster take good notes ang go to lecturres the majority of the final is based on lectures.

Professor Moyle was such an awesome professor. I actually learned how to improve my writing, without realizing it. She's flexible on paper assignments, revisions, and the grading policy. I'm planning on taking another class by her just because I know that if I do my share of the work, I'll do well and actually learn something. I highly recommend taking Professor Moyle ... if not because she's a great teacher, at least for the pizza party. :)

Do not take her English Composition 3 course. Although she edits your paper thoroughly, she spends most of the time making it her writing style rather than helping you cultivate your own. Too much reading and boring.
