All Ratings and Reviews for Ioan Bejenaru
FUNNY FUNNY teacher. He is a good professor. Taugh but he teaches well, so if you go to lecture and do the hw, you will be fine. Don't take him lightly though.
I also took him for my first quarter and though it was some work, it was manageable, even with my poor work ethic. His curve is nice and he's a very nice guy. Granted, he's got an accent, but it's not that hard to get used to. I got an A in his class without busting my butt. As long as you're willing to put in the effort to try to learn the material, you'll be fine.
Bejenaru is quite bright, and is a very capable lecturer. He expected a lot from us and he seemed at times quite disappointed in us for being so stupid. He made the tests appropriately quite difficult and included non-trivial problems, especially on the final. I think he wants to ensure that even those who received A's in his class still realize that they have a lot left to learn! Two thumbs up!
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. clear and precise lectures. easy to take notes. and quite interesting sometimes. fair midterms. nothing trivial or much different from the hw. the final was unexpectedly harder than the midterms, but not impossible. i can tell that he IS concerned about his students and wants them to learn and get good grades. from what i've heard about other 32A professors( or even the lower division math professors), he is definitely one of the better ones.
Obviously, many freshmen went into the class thinking that they can barely study and do well just like back in high school, and it wasn't the case. So they came on bruinwalk and complained about the professor about their horrid grades instead. Take Bejenaru, he wants you to apply what you've learned on the tests, and doing the homework and attending lectures definitely were worth the effort.
over all a good professor i took him for analysis which is supposed to be a brain buster but he did a good job i wouldnt mind taking him again
i took his class during my first quarter of college. i tought it would be overwhelming, but quite the contrary. yea his accent is pretty bad (ask him to say the letter "z" and theta) but all math teachers pretty much have an accent. his curve is very lenient on his midterm and final. hes fair and his goal is not to see students fail like some other teacehrs.
super hard class. but professor makes it 10x better! i wouldn't have choosen anyone else! go to lecture, take good notes, do EVERY homework problem... you will be fine
I took this professor last quarter, to be quite honest, I was terrified after reading what I read on here. However, I was more than glad after discovering by myself that these people might have taken someone else because Prof. Bejenaru is an EXCELLENT professor. He is not only a very fair grader, but he makes stuff SO clear that missing lecture was really missing out. He doesn't leave to much homework because he wants the TA to grade every single aspect of it. Also, he is ALWAYS available after class and encourages students to go to his office hrs. He is definately not the easiest teacher, but definetely the best at teaching.
worst math professor ever. i failed his class. literally. his accent is horrible and so is his cocnern about students. DONT EVER TAKE HIM. thanks to him, i have to retake 31a.
