I took Prof. a couple of years ago for his EngComp100 class. It was one of the best experiences I have had at UCLA. I seemed to always leave class in a wonderous daze, pondering over the many profound subjects that we discussed. Professor Mascaro is a brilliant instructor, and a really, really nice guy. Fun to listen to, absolutely engaging and riveting lecturer. I would recommend anybody to take his class who wants to broaden their horizons, and to see things from a different perspective.

MASCARO is the greatest and one of the most influential professors that UCLA has had. Often times we judge a professors quality by the their notoriety or amount of information they now, rather than actually teaching skillst. BUT, while most people from these 300 or 400 student classes leave class at the end of the quarter with nothing substantial or truly meaningful, I believe that when people left his 20 student classroom they were enlightened and gained a new perfspective on themeselves, others, an the whole world.

Mascaro was one of few teachers throughout my college career that were truly in touch with students and on the same level and genuinely cared...

However, UCLA has not, does not, and will not, have an interest in education...when they are more worried about prestige and "NAME" and grade inflation THE EDUCATION SUCKS at UCLA, which is evident by the loss of MASCARO and other amazing and life changing professors that students are willing to fight and get arrested for, e.g., award winning Joshua Muldavin.
