Professor Vidale always showed concern for the students, and I would definitely recommend Earthquakes to anyone. Vidale makes an effort to know everyone's name; he even attends the labs. I learned a lot. Plus too, he class is not that difficult, and Vidale tries to make it interesting too. Lectures were sometimes a little boring, but that's expected. If you need Physical Science GE's, definitely take ESS 8.

Great guy. Extremely passionate about the material he teaches. Genuinely tries to make sure everyone understands what he is talking about. Awesome class, take it!

Vidale is a great professor. He really shows concern for his students learning and content understanding. His voice is monotone and lectures are a bit bland, but if you follow you print out the lecture notes from the class website and bring it to class, the class goes by much faster. Also, the professor has a light sense of humor. The subject matter isn't very difficult. Labs are pretty cool, and the professor & TA are easily available to answer your questions if you don't understand what the question is asking. Professor Vidale gives off a very pleasant vibe. I recommend him as a professor for ESS8.

This class is a really good class to take if you need an easy physical science GE. All of his lectures are onlien which makes it extremly easy to study for the midterm and final. Your grade is based on exams, labs, and discussion attendance. He is very knowledgeable in his class. I saw people ask him all kinds of diffcult questions and he was able to answer everything. His class is great. One downside is that his voice is totally monotone. This class is a great GE to take!!

Just checking whether I can review myself. I doubt my self-review will lower my scores.

I wanted to say these reviews are a great service, and more people should post and read reviews. Even though someone gave me all 1's or my score would be higher.

rEALLY easy class, but lectures are monotone and mind numbing. be prepared for long, boring lecture. just print notes out and study out of the book, save yourself the time.

Professor Vidale is an awesome professor. He is
very concerned with student learning. In fact, I
don't think I have ever had a professor who was as
concerned about student learning as he was. He would
even go to our labs when he didn't even have to be
there just to try to help us out. In fact, he would
ask us if we need help. That is how approachable and
concerned with student learning he is. I didn't
feel intimidated by his being there because he is
VERY approachable and we knew was only there to help.
He also tries to make the material as comprehensible
as he can and his testing is not hard at all. He is
a really good, well-meaning and kind-hearted professor.
I definitely recommend him!

Professor Vidale was a wonderful professor. While he lectures are a little boring at times, he does his best to keep us entertained. His exams are easy although there are a few tricky questions. He cares a lot about the students and if you make an effort to see him, he will be very flexible with you. One of the nicest and most caring professors I've had here.

This class is a must take GE for more reasons than being easy. Reasons to take this class include:

1. Professor Vidale is extremely available outside of class. If you have a question, email him, he'll respond very promptly

2. Earthquakes is rediculously easy. I thought lecture was interesting and valuable. Some people don't. Whether you go or not, you'll be walking away with a decent grade.

3. His eyebrows are rediculous. If you get so see them up close.... well... it will change you.

4. Rediculous pictures. If you attend lecture, pay attention to the pictures on his powerpoint slides. Some of them are rediculous and don't make any sense. This is all part of Vidale's evil ploy to make his class entertaining.
