Sproul is fantastic, he might have a bit of a monotone voice, but he is very engaging and explains concepts very clearly. You don't really need a textbook for Econ 1 because he gives you the link to his own textbook. Also, his quizzes (3 total) are all based off what he says during lecture and also provides study guides.

While many say that Sproul's class is boring, I completely disagree. He's a very interesting character and makes very funny remarks. He explains concepts very clearly during lectures. Textbook was completely useless but I only paid $4 for it so it's fine. All of his tests are based purely off of lecture so if you take good notes and memorize them, you'll get an easy A. I aced two of the midterms just by re watching the lectures. There is no homework for this class.

Very easy class and a great professor! I ended up with a B+ though because I did not really study much for the final and it ended up being harder than the midterms. So don't make the same mistake I did. His class is podcasted which is great. Midterms are very straight forward if you pay attention and know all of the examples he gives in class very well (Short answer is always one of them).
I recommend him he is a good professor and makes jokes in class

Good professor, but he gives monotone and extremely dry lectures. You must know every example he gives to succeed in this class, but he is kind and willing to help. Far more difficult than I expected, but I got an A+ in the end.

Great class, easy to get an A if you go to class (or watch the podcasts) and do the readings, which basically explain the lectures.
If you get the concepts, you'll get a good grade.

Professor Sproul is a solid teacher, but I found his class very difficult. He is a bit boring, but he explains the concepts very well and attempts to apply them to everyday life. There are three quizzes (which are basically midterms) and a final in his class, which he says are all based solely off of his lecture material, but in reality they are much more difficult and math-based than the in-class examples. His own online textbook is a very useful tool when studying for the exams, because it goes in depth on the material, but reading the Mankiw textbook does not really help. Plus, his lectures are on Bruincast, so you can easily go back and review certain concepts. He moves relatively quickly, but is organized. But beware the tests! They require you to have a very clear understanding of what was taught in class so that you can apply it to more complex and specific situations.

Professor Sproul is very good at showing concepts and it was very easy to take decent notes. He also has his own textbook that explained the lectures more in depth. However, he did move very fast and at the end curved down after the final. I did a lot worse than I thought I would have.

I really enjoyed Sproul.

He keeps lectures very interesting and comical relating them to real events in world. Also there are three quizzes rather than a midterm and they are all based on his lectures rather than the reading which makes it very easy to succeed if you pay attention.

I recommend taking this class as it is both interesting and easy to do well in.
