If you have the option to take 32B with Noah, do it. He is by far my favorite math professor so far at UCLA. He is incredibly helpful, always answering questions on Campuswire, and homework in the class is incredibly light. Lectures are clear and entertaining, and he always has a good attitude. You can tell he is passionate about the subject and cares for his students. I would love to take another class with him.

Y'all I'm so fuckin heart eyes for this prof. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Not only is he super understanding and supportive of students, he's genuinely GOOD at teaching and explaining difficult concepts. 32B is notoriously hard but Noah turns it into a tolerable learning experience. My favorite things about Noah, in order: the Australian accent, lecturing style (super clear and engaging, and he draws helpful diagrams, very good for visual learners), BRUINCASTS, exam format (includes a multiple choice section), light workload for homework (a handful of problems due every other week), accessibility (he's always online on Campuswire), friendliness towards students. I love noah and im so glad i had him for this class yall i cant explain it anymore than this

Professor White is definitely one of the best math professors I've had at UCLA. I took this course with a different professor in Spring and struggled the entire quarter. After retaking the course in fall with Noah, I feel very confident with my abilities in math. He does a really great job with explaining how everything is related and provides a lot of useful visuals. He definitely cares about his students and always answers questions pretty quickly on Campuswire.

There's a slight curve on how he assigns grades for the class. He clarifies how specific scores predict what grade you might receive in the class after both midterms. He also has two different grading scales depending on if you bomb/miss a midterm. His HW/Quiz grade is also pretty easy because he drops your lowest 3 scores. I got 100 for HW/Quiz, 85 on Midterm 1, 58 on Midterm 2, and an 83 on the Final. My second midterm was dropped and I ended with a B+ in the class. Definitely take this class over any other professor!

Noah was an absolute champ. Here's why you should take this class:
1. Reasonable tests
2. 3 questions of homework every OTHER week, and easy quizzes in between, so barely any work outside class
3. Great lecturer, but maybe a little proof heavy. Still, did enough examples for a good understanding.
On the whole, this is exactly what I wanted from a math class. Noah didn't drown us in homework, but gave us problem sets (for our own exercise) that would more or less span the types of questions he'd give on exams. The tests were fair and there were plenty of MCQs that weren't too hard (except for the ones on the final). Would recommend this class 10/10.

I loved Professor White and this class! He cares about his students and wants you to actually learn.

White is great at explaining topics for Math 32B, he is always clear and doesn't bother to do annoying proofs for every single thing. He is also amazing at drawing diagrams, his artistic skills impressed me honestly.

White is very organized. He has his own website that includes all the info you would ever need: syllabus, grading scheme, homework sets (always typed out the problems that were due so there was never any confusion), practice midterms and finals with solutions, schedule, etc. He also bruincasts his lecture with video, which is a big plus when you don't want to go to class in person. He used Campuswire (like piazza) which I personally really liked. He was always responsive and quick to answer any questions on there.

The class has two midterms and a final. The midterms were structured just like the practice ones and matched the difficulty. Each week he alternates with a quiz in discussion or 1-3 problems on the homework set that you would upload to gradescope. The problems were usually easy and he'd always help you if you needed it.

Overall, I would really recommend taking this class with White. He has been one of the best math professors I've had at UCLA other than Wenhao Ou.

Noah is the first (actual) professor I have encountered here at UCLA other than some sketchy grad student. His teaching is clear and engaging, and his Australian accent makes everything better. However, some of the class materials just weren't explained very well. He really tried, and some of the more rigorous proofs seemed rather unhelpful in a lower div class like this.

Probably one of the most enjoyable math classes I've been in so far. Professor White really cares about whether or not the class learns, so he'll go over concepts that people don't understand more than once to make sure everyone is caught up. Sometimes he'll make demos (like he made his own mobius strip) for another visual aid in understanding difficult concepts, which I thought was pretty helpful. Homework is pretty easy, midterms can be difficult but fairly straightforward. One downside to the class is that sometimes he'll mess up in calculation when he does examples, but he posts his notes on CCLE so it's not that big of a deal. Also he's very nice and super approachable. Would recommend.
