This class is very simple and a little boring.

This class was pretty easy for the most part and not a lot of work. If you need a class that is light work then this is the right class for you. There are no midterms and the final is a 3 pg double spaced essay you have to write about a prompt she gives you, which was quick to finish. The lectures were posted online so you can watch them whenever you want, but the discussion section was in-person and attendance was mandatory. There is a group project presentation for the discussion section, but it is very easy and doable. There are 4 film observations, which are 1-3 sentences about what you thought about the movie or a question they ask you. She also provides you with extra credit towards the end of the quarter and the assignment is easy. Overall, the class was easy and I would definitely take it again if I had to.

If you need an easy, interesting psych elective, take this class! There were no tests, only weekly discussion posts, an essay, and a group project. You can skim the lectures, readings, and assigned movies and get a great grade in the class. The course is all about Gesellschaft and Gemeinschaft, mostly focusing on the professor's past work. While this class can be boring, it's easy and not time consuming!

this was a hybrid course when i took it.
no textbook, just journal articles she gives to read.
based on one take home essay, one group project, 3 movie questions in sets of twos so 6 questions total, and another set of questions to ask based on the week prior's material.
overall easy course just super unclear bc this was the first time they did hybrid. discussion was mandatory. lecture posted every tuesday and thursday. repetitive. just know geminschaft and gesellschaft. it is only learning her theory in a different font over and over agin, sooooo boring, she is a sweet, smart, intelligent women with so much experience it just gets old after awhile.

This class is definitely an easy A upper div, so take it if you need one, but it's just incredibly boring and repetitive. Gemeinschaft & Gesellschaft: the only two words you'll be hearing over the course of 10 weeks. She does assign some interesting movies and readings though, and it's not the worst class to take for an easy A.

This class is easy and a lot better than the rest of the reviews would make it seem. It could be more interesting, and she does read off the slides, but that just means the material is really easy and you can just go off the slides. Also the tests are simple and straightforward; a lot of the questions are intuitive and not a lot of studying is required. And the material is still pretty interesting even though it can get repetitive; it's just not the most interesting class ever.

Honestly, just take it if you're looking for an easy class. If you're looking for an easy + interesting class, or you'd rather take interesting over easy, then this class probably isn't the best choice, but I personally think it's fine.

Reviews are spot on: class literally sucks but is dumbfoundingly easy. I don't even have a 3.0 and this was an easy A.

The class is easy, so if you're looking for easy, take it. It's also pretty interesting, even though it is kind of repetitive. Lectures are a bit dry because she just reads off the slides, but that also makes it easy to follow I guess. Honestly, it's easy and interesting enough that I think you might as well take it. It isn't nearly as bad as all the other reviews make it seem.

IGNORE GRADE DISTRIBUTION, Yes! People got A's. But this class is by no means worth your money, time, or stress. The exams are too tricky and specific (she literally put questions about the name of a co-researcher and what her "intent" was for writing a book) -- questions that were never explained in lecture/discussion/book and are just random in nature so you are gambling with your grade no matter how hard you work. The class is slow and dull, and then the exam hits you in the face and you feel unprepared. I honestly think she is a kind person, but she doesn't care about student learning and she has too much experience for her to be reading monotonously off of slides. I ignored all of the reviews, saw the grade distribution, and WENT FOR it. I regret it, I worked extremely hard for this A and at the end of the day, I learned absolutely nothing and sat through a class that I feel should never have been approved to be taught. Y'all..take psych and ed/intimate relationships/language development /LITERALLY ANY OTHER PSYCH ELECTIVE, do not waste your time on this one.
