He takes a dull topic and keeps the lecture interesting. He is very energetic and enthusiastic. IF you have to take this class I would definitely reccomend Kaiser as your prof he is excellent.

Kaiser is a great teacher, I would recomend him to any one, and have. Keep in mind, however, that this is his second job. He's one of the head-hanchos of advertising over at Earthlink. That's why his classes are later in the day. Yet he brings this into perpective in his lectures. He shows you why you need to know this stuff, which is motivating. His tests are mostly from lecture and keep a heads up because there are usually typos in his overheads (and sometimes exams). He is a great guy, and a great professor.

I took psych 100 A with Kaiser spring 2001, and I thought that he was a really ggod professor. He took a long time going through the basics of the class, but that gave us a good foundation for the more difficult concepts. It did kind of suck because it seemed like he rushed through the last half of the class. The tests are fair though because he tests you more on the concepts than the actual number crunching for the last part of the class. I would totally take psych 100a with him.

Professor Kaiser takes a dull subject and puts some life into it. Now, that's not to say that the subject (Statistical Psychology) is anymore interesting or less confusing, but he does manage to keep the lecture lively enough to keep you from falling asleep or getting up and leaving the lecture. If you have to take this class, definately take it with Professor Kaiser - he's knowledgable about the subject and presents it in the least "painful" way possible. Plus he posts all his lecture notes/slides up on the Web a day or two before that lecture day - that's a bonus because it's so helpful!

This is the easiest math class I've taken. Compared to multivariable calculus...this is cake. The curve is rather high because it's a req for Psych/psychobio. All the test questions come directly from the lecture material. He's a very efficient teacher with his use of powerpoint slides.

While I found him entertaining, I often left lecture even more confused, and felt that I really had to teach myself the material. He was also extremely unsympathetic to any problems students had, especially technological problems such as getting access to his lectures or the data sets for homework.

This was literally the 5th attempt taking this class, and I must say that because of Prof. Kaiser, I am finally passing!! He makes the subject material easy to understand and I thought that he was just a really fair teacher. I highly recommend him. On a side note, he doesn't make THAT many mistakes on his powerpoint!!

I had 100A with him and I thought his lectures were confusing and went way too fast. He also had frequent mistakes in his Powerpoint lectures which is a bummer because if you don't show up to class and just download the notes you will get even more confused. He's a really funny guy in class but I felt like I had to teach myself most of the material even though I attended every lecture.

I was very scared of taking his class because I have heard many people don't do very well. However, I was very surprised when I did well. I did keep up with the readings and I bought the study guide (A MUST!!) It helps so much for the exams...I recommend his class because all stats classes are not much fun, but at least he gets his point across and knows how to lecture. He is also willing to answer any questions you have, he is a little intimidating at first.

Dr. Kaiser was a pretty decent professor, although he wasn't approachable outside of class because besides teaching at UCLA, he also has a "real job" at Earthlink, which he talks about constantly. I also don't know why he even bothers to give out his e-mail address, because he tells you on the first day of class not to ever e-mail him.

I must have destroyed a small forest by printing out all his powerpoint slides, but they were useful tools for studying and doing homework, not to mention the fact that there's very little notetaking in his class because he gives them all to you.

The material in this class is easy, so I doubt that it matters what professor you have for the course. If you wind up with Kaiser then it's okay. If not, then that's okay, too.
