ANTHRO 139, taken Spring 2019 Submitted June 25, 2019 Grade Received: A

I would recommend him to all of my peers! This is the second course I have taken with professor Lemelson and I hope to take many more with him. He assigns 5 biweekly throughout the quarter, one film review, and one final paper. It is very doable! You have two weeks to write each biweekly. There are no exams in this course.

A very good professor...really focus on the real-life work rather than plain, boring theories...willing to help students....holding a fun class with good discussion atmosphere....a MUST TAKE prof before anyone leaves UCLA

I really, really enjoyed Anthro 135 with prof Lemelson. The material he covers is so interesting and he picks the best aides to supplement his lectures. The topics he covers are very profound and maintained my interest the entire quarter. He is extremely concerned about student learning and really encourages participation. There are no tests in the class, just some commentary style writing. I would DEF recommend this course, and this prof.

ANTHRO 136A Submitted March 30, 2003 Grade Received: N/A

I am a third year at UCLA, and without reservations I would recommend Professor Lemelson to my friends because I think he must be the best professor I have had at this university. He was effective as a a teacher because I was engaged in everything his class offered, including lectures and reading materials. He was concerned about my personal growth and learning because he encouraged to write about something significant to me, instead of taking the safe way out (and analyze Freud, for example). He guided me to write one of the best papers in my life, and I am quite proud of it. Lastly, Professor Lemelson class was small, and he made accomodations to be available outside of the classroom for me. My experience in Anthropology 135A is what all of the college, academic experience should be like.

A phenomenal professor. In 133G, Lemelson followed the developmental stages from infancy to adolescence without rushing the process. He showed numerous films that really made the material a part of the world, rather than a chapter in a textbook.

I had the pleasure of being in his discussion section, which i highly recommend. He's really dedicated to letting each person voice their opinions. Even though I rarely did, when I went to his office hours, he knew exactly who I was and what my paper topic was about. He's extremely patient when explaining concepts, and possesses a genuine interest in sharing what he knows with his students. Take his class for fun. It's worth it.

I loved dr. lemelson's class. It really gave a new and fresh means of looking at psychology. A really nice and needed change from the regular textbooks, notes, and experimental research. He presented more real world applications through videos, personal stories, and some facinating lectures. His class doesnt require very much work except that you attend discussion, 5 minireports, and 2 essays. I learned most of the material through discussion. I would highly recommend his course

the man is a genius, and unlike a lot of genuises at ucla, he is also the nicest coolest and greatest prof ive ever had at ucla. what other prof would bring 20 students to his home and cook them a traditional balienese dinner?! he loves what he does and hes damn good at it. hes been a great inspiration for me and a huge influence on my career choice.

take his class! or if you cant, check him out at CBD mtgs

It is truly a presuare to be in his class. He cares more about the fact that you learn and that you are genuinly interested, then in creating crazy tests. You have papers, where you get to discuss things from the reading that you were actually interested in. How many teachers let you explore that side? I had him for my discussion section as well as the class. It was so much fun. If you don't show up to the lecture, you are only robbing yourself of a great information presented by an outstanding person.
