umm i dont know where to start with this guy. I agree with previous posts that he seems laid back and chill, and that he's gonna be cool but in actuality he's just disorganized and unstructured. It gets to the point where you find yourself disorganized and unstructured because you're not sure what he expects of you. But then you turn in an assignment and he marks you way down for a minor formatting mistake...?
his power points seem like he arbitrarily puts them together, as if he did it in his car on the way to school or something. The only interesting thing about this class is that he talk a lot about current events and new technologies which keeps you interested and in your mind you feel like you're learning something but when it comes to the exams you have no idea what you're reading. Exams are based on assigned readings that he rarely mentions or talks about.
he doesnt really go over readings, he also doesn't explain assignments very well but he'll grade them pretty hard, so don't be fooled by his laid-back exterior...just try to take someone else, preferably someone with structure...trust me, you'll be glad you did

Very interesting class about social networking, covering stuff like facebook, myspace etc - a lot of the time was just talking about news because the class is so focused on current events. All-in-all one of my favorite classes I've taken at UCLA. Steve's a fun prof and always keeps lectures entertaining. Exams were multiple choice and not too difficult
