Prof Liggett is truly a wonderful math professor. He really helps you LEARN the material, and how to go about thinking about how to do problems and proofs. He's also genuinely nice, which helps. Take him for any class you can.

He speaks clearly and his tests in my 33B class are very reasonable.

He was Math61 Teacher.

Trust me he was the best in helping student.

Professor Liggett is the best instructor I've *EVER* had- including highschool and grammar school. He's in my mind definitely the best teacher in the math department, and all of UCLA

His midterms are very difficult.

He's an OK prof, but I've had better profs. His exams are kinda hard and I'm still not sure if he curves or not. Keep up with the material and you'll do alright and make sure you go to office hours so you can ask questions on the hw. You can't ask questions during discussion because the HW is due at the start of discussion. Stupid rule.

Very straightforward Professor who does a decent job explaining material. I've had better professors, however.

He's an old goofy guy that sluuuuurs all his words together... you may think this is cute, but 10 weeks of it? If you can get past the fact that he "sags" his pants and is annoying sometimes, he is an effective professor (compared to others in the Math Dept.). He's definately not great, but not really bad... basically a toss up.

I had him for Math 33B. He was always there to answer questions at OH, and his helped alot in explaining. I like his view that education should be about learning, and not simply learning just enough to pass and forget it in the long term. He is hard, and I didn't get a good grade, but that is more on my part, I just didn't study like I should have. His exams are hard, so go to office hours and study like there is no tommorrow. You may or may not do well, but you will understand the material and he challenges you.

Prof. Liggett's weekly quizzes were reasonable: if you do the hw, you'll do okay on them. His midterms were alright, but his final was super hard. He really cares about his students but his explanations/lectures are not that easy to understand.
