CLUSTER 30A, taken Fall 2019 Submitted Jan. 7, 2020 Grade Received: S

He is amazing!!! I feel super proud to see the professor's name appearing on the "additional credits" at the end of FROZEN!! He's so funny that the lecture is pretty interesting and enjoyable. He assigns appropriate reading and makes the class a lot more tolerant.

The best prof I've had at UCLA. A genius and a totally funny lecturer. And a nice guy.

He's one of the coolest prof. that I met in UCLA.. He's funny(tries to be) and he tries to relax the students in his lecture.. His fieldwork is not too hard and it's do-able..... well, I did end up with an A maybe that's why but his class was always interesting enough to keep me awake, after waking up at 5am and driving to school for an hour... so, I think he's pretty cool...

When you first get into this class, it seems really kick back and relaxed... but its not. Sure, there isnt too much work to do, but the grading is very hard on the midterms and essays. I asked the TA for help on my essay and we worked on it for a while, and even after all his help I ended up with a B or B- on it. His lectures aren't that bad though cuz he uses powerpoint and he puts it online, so that helps.

During the first half of the course, I didn't take the class too seroiusly. However, after I started to pay attention to his lectures, I really found the material to be interesting. He is flexible with the fieldwork projects that we have to do and it's actually fun. I give him mad props b/c even tho I am Korean, he knows wayyy more about Korean culture and history (and maybe even langauge) more than I do. Awesome professor!

professor tangherlini is one of the most "real" professors i've had at ucla. he really cares about his students and is passionaate about his material. i loved his organized lectures through powerpoint presentations and how he put up his lecture notes online. his midterm wasn't too bad because he gave us what was going to be on the exam. then, doing field work for the final was an amazing experience. rather than having us memorize things from books, he wanted us to learn from "real" life. i truly learned a lot from professor tangherlini--way to go!

He is really funny and creative. He is pretty much the country's leading expert in Scandinavian literature. I took this class as an elective because I thought it would be easy. Turns out, it was easy, and more importantly, the stuff is pretty cool and I learned about something I would have otherwise never learned about. I actually found his eccentric sense of humor hilarious. The whole class was just two take home papers and teeny tiny discussion paragraphs due every once and a while. I hope he stays at UCLA.

AWESOME TEACHER!!! one of the BEST classes ive ever taken. hes so interesting and funny. ive talked to him a few times and hes a really down to earth guy and just likes to have a good time. the material for my class was not hard and the readings were...well... they were fairy tales so it was pretty easy reading. his powerpoint lectures are pretty interesting and interactive. he also uses a lot of multimedia to make the class more interesting. his grading is not all that tough either. he gives a very comprehensive study guide for tests and as long as you know the study guide you're good to tricks or nothing like that, very straightforward
