lived here for 6 months (Jan-June 2021) and loved it! we got a big discount on rent because of COVID (we paid 1.5k but I think it's normally 2k) which was great. we lived in the first floor 1b1b right in front (you can see the big bay windows in the pic). if you're looking for a place in Westwood that's close to things but still kinda quiet & not right next to the frats, this is it.
the apartment itself is pretty spacious for a 1 bedroom; it has a bedroom, bathroom, decent size main living room, and separate kitchen. we fit 2 beds in the bedroom no problem and could have probably squeezed 1 more in if we needed to. oh and for some reason the place has 5 CLOSETS which was nice but we mostly just used them for storage. there's even one under the stairs that's like harry potter's room LMAO. but anyways it's a great deal if you're splitting the rent between 2-3 ppl, lots of room and great natural light from the big windows in the living room.
the building is pretty quiet for the most part bc it's right on the edge of the student part of Westwood; this is nice most of the time but we did get noise complaints once or twice for being loud at night (like 11pm not even that late) which was a bit annoying. also, because the building's pretty small we were able to get to know some of our neighbors which was super fun; would highly recommend befriending the lady in 412 because she is an AMAZING baker and will bring you cakes if you're nice to her.
the landlord (westside habitats) is pretty hands-off for the most part which is nice; we barely interacted with them besides for move in/out. the one issue we did have was that they were a bit slow in getting someone to come fix our heater when it was broken, they took a few days to get someone to come and then he didn't even know how to do it.
a few downsides: you can hear EVERYTHING the upstairs neighbors are doing which can be pretty annoying. there's no dishwasher which kinda sucked even though we only had two people living there. the AC (window unit) is only in the living room which meant that the bedroom got really hot sometimes and there wasn't much we could do about it. oh and the place is about as far away from Westwood village as you can be and still be in the UCLA part of Westwood which is a pain for things like groceries, late night fat sals runs, etc.
overall, though, this is a great apartment and was def worth the 1.5k we paid; it's probably even worth 2k split between 2/3 people. it's really nice (cool hardwood floors everywhere except kitchen & bathroom) and just feels a lot more like a home than some other apartments I've been in; I think not being in a massive apartment building like so many places in Westwood contributes to that feeling. I definitely recommend this place (or any others in the building); we honestly would have stayed here for this coming year if we didn't have too big of a roommate group.
