Parking is tandem. Your tandem mate is not your roommate. You cannot cancel your housing contract if you are unsatisfied, even if you agree to pay the penalty. You must have a registration on your car before you can park it. There are so many rules and the staff just don't want to help you! I will never stay here again. Such a shady and bad space. And $1080 for a double room with dorm size? You pay a lot to let them put a lot of rules on you and offer you a shady place.

Everything is great, other than the apartment coordinator. She is one of the WORST people I have ever met. I just got locked out of my apartment so I threw my pepper spray at a window and it turned out that it was the aparment coordinator's and her roomate gives me the bitchiest look even though I explain that I'm locked out. What does the aparment coordinator do? She says I'm sorry but you have to use the keypad. Does she explain HOW I use the keypad? No. Then I try to use it and fail, and then I call up ''Um, excuse me can you get my roomate?'' And then she asks ''Do you live here?'' Um...DUH. I'm a girl in exercise clothes an its the middle of the night. Why else would I be standing there? And then she asks my name and apartment number and I tell her. And then she just goes away again without telling me what she's doing, then her roomate just closes the window.....And then she comes down and opens the door finally and is like yeah I'm the apartment coordinator and I couldn't let you in without verifying who you were. And the way to use the key pad is bla bla bla. (It's fine that you have to follow rules. But I don't understand why she couldn't have explained how to use the keypad BEFORE she had to come down and open the door for me. The she says and you shouldn't throw things at windows because you could break and you would definitely be responsible for paying for that. '' And she repeats that like three times. Really? Really? I can break a window with a plastic key chain pepper spray? How did you get into UCLA? Also, why don't you have some sympathy for someone who is locked out in the middle of the night a week after someone got RAPED. You're a terrible person and you obviously have no ounce of empathy for other people in your body. Why don't you NOT treat people who live in the same building as you and who go to the same school as you like @#$%? Grow a soul.

I dont even know where to start with reviewing this apartment. My friend and I share a bedroom and the other person has their own bedroom and bathroom and per university apartment requirements, we all pay the same rent..which is ridiculous. My room mate and I have been taking cold showers since 0 week of Fall quarter and every time we have called maintenance to repair the shower, they have come and said it cannot be fixed and we should instead taking showers with everyone else in the building. I cannot even begin to tell you how frustrating it is to go without hot water every day and have the other bedroom have no problem. The furniture is kind of junky (but hey its included) and the kitchen is the smallest thing you will ever see. The parking is tandem so make sure you are comfortable constantly moving your car for switching out. Overall, I would say the only reason I didn't break this lease was because of how close it was to campus...It is unacceptable the way uni apartments divide rent AND DONT PROVIDE HOT WATER TO RESIDENTS FOR SHOWERS???!!! Good luck with this one. Can't wait to move out.

Westwood Palm: University Owned apartment

Probably the best apartment location in Westwood, in terms of walking distance to north campus (it is at the crosswalk on Gayley across from De Neve Plaza. Nice walk in closets, good apartment layout. Living room area is a little cramped. Definite upgrade compared to dorms. Some appliance issues at beginning, but maintenance is relatively reliable at fixing things quickly. Quiet hours are enforced during 10th week and finals, but beyond that the walls are thick enough that noise complaints aren't an issue (unless you live below a noisy apartment). Only issue if you're living here over the next couple years is the fact that there will be nonstop construction of the new dorms across the street which can get pretty noisy sometimes (they start early in the morning). Pricey compared to other apartments (which are bigger as well), but low hassle, as you don't have to worry about utilities, furnishings, evil landlords, security deposits, or subletting. The internet gets overloaded at random hours though. Also, the chairs are super low quality. Do not lean backwards in them or they will break.
