Winter 2023 - DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR! She is the worst more than half of my class was struggling and probably did not even pass. This class was SOOO HARD. I know it may seem like it's just climate change but its insanely hard for no reason. I don't know if it is just the course but this professor is a huge red flag. The quizzes do not make sense. She does not care about her students at all. She is very rude. She did not pass me even though I only needed her to round my grade. I would suggest avoid taking her.

Fall 2018 - Don't believe these reviews. The only accurate thing they said was about a curve. Even then, this class is terrible. The professor is nice but is useless when it comes to receiving help. My TA is horrible- snobby and is not at all helpful when it comes to providing help. I decided to ask the professor for help because the TA was a waste of time and the professor was super vague and not helpful at all. The assignments are extremely difficult and have NOTHING to do with the lectures. They DO involve a lot of math and the wording is too damn confusing. The professor and the TA themselves tend to send an email clarifying for every assignment. The labs are worse. They are confusing and not clear at all. The mid-term was the exact same thing- it made no sense and the TA's told us to focus on the wrong things and to memorize stuff that was not even on the exam. Overall, a huge waste of time and this class will most likely bring down my GPA. The worst GE I have taken in my 2 years at UCLA!!

definitely recommend brix! :) he lets you use a cheat sheet, and as long as you follow through his slides which are super organized, you can do well in both the midterm and final. i think his midterm and finals are fair, not the typical regurgitation kind of paper, but more of conceptual understanding (since you have a cheat sheet for that). he's really approachable and nice! do take him over the other profs! :):):) for someone who doesn't like science, it is actually very logical and easy to follow! SO TAKE IT NOW! :)

Winter 2026 - PLEASE TAKE THIS CLASS WITH RONG FU!!! I never write reviews but I had to give my girl her flowers. Rong Fu is genuinely one of the kindest, sweetest souls that I've met at UCLA. You can tell that she has so much passion for the subject and really cares about you as a student. Her lectures have an easy iClicker question to mark your attendance, but she also has an option for a grading scheme with no participation counted. All lectures are also recorded, with the slides and additional resources posted at the beginning of each 'unit'. Midterm exam was not too difficult and there were biweekly (every other week) online quizzes. She often jokes and engages with the class, and never failed to make me smile. It was unfortunate because my class was quite dead, but she still tried her best to be social with us. She always took/answered questions, and the assignments weren't hard. I 1000% recommend Rong Fu for any class!!!!
