Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Exchanges of energy, moisture, atmospheric trace gases, and momentum between terrestrial ecosystems and atmosphere. Interactions and feedbacks between physical environment and physiological status of plants and soils. Topics include canopy structure and function, leaf energy balance, and carbon and water fluxes between plants, soils, and atmosphere. Letter grading.
