Photochemistry of stratosphere and mesosphere; basic ionospheric processes; stratospheric pollution and ozone layer; physical chemistry of upper atmosphere clouds and aerosols; comparative photochemistry of planetary atmospheres; observational techniques and results. S/U (for majors with consent of instructor after successful completion of written and oral comprehensive examination and for nonmajors at discretion of major department) or letter grading.
