Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Production, consumption, and distribution of food, with particular emphasis on culture of food. Exploration of ecological history, class, poverty, hunger, ethnicity, nationalism, capitalism, gender, race, and sexuality. Food that shapes identities, desires, and needs in contemporary world.
