Anthropology of Migration
Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour (when scheduled). Introduction of different views on population movement from refugee crisis and migration tendencies to policies surrounding newcomers' incorporation and anti-immigration political strategies. Examination of motivations for migration, both voluntary and involuntary movements (e.g., displacement, slave trades, or ethnic violence). P/NP or letter grading.
