barbara is one of the best professors i've had in the art dept - she is absolutely amazing. if you want to make socially significant and meaningful work, you should take a class with her. but if you are lazy, uninterested, and uninvolved with your work and just want to graduate with as little effort as possible, take a class with someone else. she makes you work hard (she expects a lot of high quality work). you will probably not always get positive feedback (ie. "this is great", etc - she is quick to point out issues and problems but this is exactly why she is a great art prof.). she also expects you to be aware of whats happening in the art world (ie whats being shown at musuems and galleries, etc) and have a working knowledge of contemporary art (if you don't know this stuff, it's okay, she'll point you in the right direction but you should go into the class knowing that this is expected). and as you hopefully already know, she is also one of the most famous artists at our institution and her work is extremely important - so it's really cool to have the opportunity to take a class with her. she's the shit.
