Radiation and Fluids in Astrophysics
Spring 2021 - Professor Hansen was a really sweet guy. Unfortunately, because I took this class during the pandemic, he had his classes set up in a really strange format. He would pre-record each lecture, then play the video for us during class time, then go over everything again in person. Personally, I found the format pretty useless. However, he was a nice guy and was pretty helpful, s I imagine that his class would be a lot better in person. Also, he doesn't require a textbook and has his own notes that he makes available to you instead of making you buy a book, which means the class and "book" are essentially the same which is super helpful
Spring 2023 - I honestly really liked this class, granted thats mainly because it was easy. He goes over interesting material and is a pretty engaging speaker. It's all powerpoint slides though and there's no need to take notes so it is pretty easy to zone out or be looking at the clock as some of the derivations/explanations can be pretty boring. It's pretty cool you get to touch on general relativity and the big bang at the end of the class. His homeworks were all straight forward and pretty easy. Exams were straight off of his study guides and homework problems so as long as you studied those you were fine. I would recommend taking.
