Description: Lecture, four hours; laboratory, four hours; outside study, four hours. Preparation: general background on cell biology, calculus, and differential equations. Comprehensive introduction of cell engineering. Topics include quantitative and experimental analysis of cell behavior such as cell growth, migration and differentiation, biomaterial fabrication, cell-material interactions, cell signaling, tissue remodeling, and immuno-modulation/isolation. Letter grading.
