Description: Lecture, four hours. Preparation: knowledge of calculus, differential equations, and partial differential equations. Introduction to concepts, equations, and approximations that describe structure and function of biological systems, evolutionary principles, and network design and dynamics. Topics include cancer initiation and progression, gene expression, epistasis, response to fluctuating environments, network structure, and functional traits. S/U or letter grading.
