Statistical Graphics

Description: Lecture, three hours; laboratory, one hour. Requisite: course 200A (may be taken concurrently). Graphical data analysis emphasizes use of visual displays of quantitative data to gain insight into data structure by exploring patterns and relationships, and to enhance classical numerical analyses, especially assumption validity checking. Principles of graph construction, graphical methods, and perception issues. S/U or letter grading.
