Elementary Structural Analysis
Description: Lecture, four hours; discussion, two hours; outside study, six hours. Enforced requisites: courses M20 (or Computer Science 31), 108. Introduction to structural analysis; classification of structural elements; analysis of statically determinate trusses, beams, and frames; deflections in elementary structures; virtual work; analysis of indeterminate structures using force method; introduction to displacement method and energy concepts. Letter grading.

Fall 2024 - Woody Ju is a very interesting professor. His lectures are hella disorganized and he often goes off topic, but he has his funny moments. He sometimes rips ass randomly which caught me off guard because I was sitting in the front row. He is not that good at explaining certain topics and just tells you to "use your Jedi mind sense" especially for beam deflections. I stopped going to lecture after he said that lol. This quarter, both his midterm and final were online which was good but also not good. It took me like 5 hours to finish the midterm and 8+ hours for the final because they were online. So if he gives you a choice on midterm or in-person, DO IN-PERSON TESTS!! Other than that, the homeworks weren't bad, but he doesn't accept late homework so do them on time. Chill dude though and just take 135A with him.
