Description: Lecture, three hours. Examination of Central and East European culture through lens of literature, film, visual arts, music, and other artifacts of material culture from 1989 onward. Analysis of Polish, Czech, Slovak, Romanian, Hungarian, former Yugoslavian and East German writers, essayists, filmmakers, musicians, visual artists, and graphic novelists in order to reflect on nature of political and societal changes after fall of communism.
