Careers in Chemistry and Biochemistry
Description: Seminar, two hours. Exploration of employment and career opportunities available to students. Different speakers give short presentations to describe their career paths in areas such as industry, government, research and development, education, law, and healthcare, explain how their education in chemistry and biochemistry helped them become successful, and what actual chemistry was used in their particular professions. Students learn and understand real-life applications of chemical concepts found in their coursework. P/NP grading.

Winter 2023 - Very chill seminar with some interesting speakers. All you needed to do for the class was submit a resume (incl. a finalized one after the first) and cover letter to any company/research of your choice, schedule an appointment with a counselor and ATTEND all classes (you can only miss 1). This is a pass/no pass only class. Dr. Jung leading it made everything fun. There was always snacks/light food after and we usually ended earlier than scheduled. Dr. Jung was always encouraging interactions after the class and was overall very kind and attentive to any questions. I hope in the future, they had more industry speakers.
