Description: Lecture, three hours. Theory and practice of modern crystallography, with emphasis on practical experience in structure determination. Topics include crystallographic symmetry, scattering theory, data collection, Fourier analysis, heavy atom techniques, direct methods, isomorphous replacement, crystallographic refinement, error analysis, and common pitfalls. S/U or letter grading.
