Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Requisites: courses 30C and 30CL (may be taken concurrently), 110B, and 113A, with grades of C- or better. Mechanisms of organic reactions. Acidity and acid catalysis; linear free energy relationships; isotope effects. Molecular orbital theory; photochemistry; pericyclic reactions. May be concurrently scheduled with course C243A. P/NP or letter grading.
