Mathematical Methods for Chemistry

Description: Lecture, four hours. Enforced requisites: Mathematics 31A, 31B, 32A, 32B. Review of basic mathematics necessary to study physical chemistry at graduate level, with focus on review of vectors, linear algebra, elementary complex analysis, and solution of ordinary and partial differential equations. Development of problem-solving skills through homework based on these mathematical techniques, with examples from physical chemistry. Concurrently scheduled with course C122. S/U or letter grading.
