Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Enforced requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Not open for credit to students with credit for course 2AW or 4AW. Study of major texts in world literature, with emphasis on Western civilization. Texts include major works and authors such as "Iliad" or "Odyssey," Greek tragedies, portions of Bible, Virgil, Petronius, St. Augustine, and others such as "Gilgamesh" or "Tristan and Iseult." P/NP or letter grading.
