Review of origin and modern development of artificial intelligence (AI) and its recent breakthroughs, with special emphasis on its usages of media industry (personalization, recommendation, and target advertising). Study includes technical merits and controversies such as ethical and moral issues of AI, privacy concerns in data collection, and fair use of AI in general. P/NP or letter grading.
