Beginning World Arts Practices in East Asia and Diaspora
Description: Studio, three hours. Beginning-level study of world arts practices originating from East Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan. Variable topics, such as movement and music techniques of Beijing Opera, Korean shamanic movement practices, and Kabuki theater, in cultural and historical context. May be repeated for credit without limitation. P/NP or letter grading.

Winter 2021 - I really enjoyed taking this course! Even though it was online, I still felt like I gained a lot from the experience. Professor Tsou and his teaching staff are very kind and always willing to help us practice the forms we are learning. They are not harsh on grading and really just want students to gain something valuable from the experience. I would definitely recommend taking this course if you want to learn something new and have fun while doing it!
