Description: Seminar, three hours. Requisite: satisfaction of Entry-Level Writing requirement. Freshmen/sophomores preferred. Exploration of how comics employ performance form of stand-up comedy for social change. Through analysis of case studies, students learn about theory, history, and strategies of stand-up, as well as how scholars analyze its form and impact. Letter grading.
