Description: Studio, six hours; outside study, nine hours. Limited to Design|Media Arts majors. Introduction to essential 3D computer graphics techniques, concepts, and implementations. Students complete short exercises to better understand workflows used to create 3D digital art and adjacent media including but not limited to 3D models and animation, virtual and augmented reality, video games, motion capture, photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and physics simulations. Offers technical, formal, and theoretical background for 3D computer graphics to inspire new perspectives on potential of artmaking in virtual spaces. Letter grading.
