Winter 2023 - First off, Pamarati is nice, well-spoken, clear, and clearly takes his job seriously. I would be lying if I said he was a bad professor, as he does a great job instructing. With that out of the way, the tests were far harder than the homework, and graded harshly. I knew 3 other students in the class, and the best grade was a C, I know for a fact all of us were putting some serious work in, but it wasn't enough to do good on the tests. Midterm 1 had a mean of 33/50, midterm 2 had a mean of 30/50, and the final had a mean of 46/100. While there is a posted curve, it is set up to ensure everyone passes, you will have to perform well on the tests to get a decent grade.

Winter 2025 - The GOAT! Hands down the best ECE professor when it comes to teaching. He’s like a real-life ChatGPT—he somehow answers every question you might be thinking during the lecture, as if he’s reading your mind. He breaks down complex concepts into the simplest, most direct explanations, making even the hardest topics feel easy. His notes and slides are top-tier! He also does this amazing “try harder” policy—if you improve your final exam score by 10–20%, he shifts a portion of your midterm grade to the final. Super motivating and really fair. If you do the assignments on your own and go through the practice exams, you’ll be in great shape. He doesn’t curve, but honestly, he doesn’t need to—the averages are already pretty high. Make sure you go to the TA-led review sessions—they’re super helpful and definitely worth your time. There’s no separate discussion section; the TA’s office hours are where those happen. Also, go to the professor’s office hours whenever you can. He’s incredibly kind, listens well, and will never make you feel like your question is dumb. If you can attend every one of his office hours, do it—he’s truly the GOAT.
