Spring 2021 - Overall a very straightforward lab. Depending on your classes progress you'll be doing 4-5 experiments where each will take around 1-3 weeks to complete. For each lab, the professor will go over the required theory and give a short explanation on the general approach for each lab. He gives enough explanation where you'll have little to no problem completing the lab in ~2-6 hours. And his slides and the departments lab manual give enough guidance in case you get lost. He also uses Piazza if you're wondering. You will need to download a software to do the labs, but don't worry about that since the software is easy to install and use. For this lab, you'll have to write up a lab report for each experiment and there will be 3 quizzes. According to his syllabus the reports are 60% and quizzes 40% of your overall grade. The lab reports are very easy to do and only take a few hours to complete. All you do is paste your results, paste a picture of your set up, and answer some discussion questions. The quizzes are pretty straightforward, just make sure you memorize the equations on his slides and you'll be fine. The questions involve little bit of algebra and mainly plug and chug. He gives you 20 minutes to complete the quiz however. If you want a A, make sure you get perfect or near perfect scores (>95%) on all quizzes where almost everyone will do well on the report so your grade will depend on each of your quiz grades. Mess up one, you lost your chance for a A. He should grade in a straight scale, but since a lot of people does well, he curves down.
