Data Science for Economists
Description: Lecture, three hours; laboratory, one hour. Enforced requisites: courses 11, 103. Enforced corequisite: course 104L. In-depth discussion of multivariate regression. Introduction to estimation of multivariate regression, and confidence intervals and hypothesis tests in context of multivariate regression. Discussion of instrumental variables and binary choice models. Emphasis on hands-on experience on data analytics and real data applications. P/NP or letter grading.

Fall 2022 - Great professor, but I think Econ 104 as a class just sucked in general. Boswell is pretty nice and extends project due dates if most of the class needed extra time for the group projects. Fall 2022 was also the TA strike quarter, so we had a no harm final which probably saved me half a letter grade. Just make sure for your groups, you choose responsible group partners and that you study well for the midterm. the midterm itself isn't super difficult, but in my opinion the environment was poorly planned out (we took it in a very crowded lecture hall and there was no room to move around and there was a lot of noise), and I got very distracted even though I understood the material, causing me to get an F on the test when I could've at least gotten a C. She also records and livestreams lectures.
