The most boring and un-engaging, education studies class I have ever taken. If there wasn't any credit for attendance, nobody would show up to class. She reads off powerpoints that are not even organized and filled from top to bottom with text. Sadly, I'm not even exaggerating. Avoid if possible.

Fall 2017 - Ed187 with Professor Omwami was an enjoyable class in the sense that she's super sweet and the topics can be interesting. The coursework isn't overwhelming (a few two-page papers and simple analysis of public education data) and the final paper wasn't too complex. However, Professor Omwami usually doesn't do a good job explaining things clearly. Just try to keep it simple and utilize the TA or your common sense. I liked the class but it did take a while to grow accustomed to her style.

Winter 2022 - Review for (renamed) Education 13: Justice, Democracy, and Education. This course was really fun! Before coming in, I had never even heard of a community school. Now, I'm very intrigued! Professor Quartz is one of the warmest, nicest, most accomodating professors I've had. She had a quarter riddled with challenges, going from online to in-person/hybrid teaching, which was difficult. She managed it all very well. This course had a presentation and an 8-page paper, which were graded somewhat easily, but fairly. she is an inspirational person and I would highly recommend her class to others. She even organized field trips for our class, which was definitely a highlight! This class kind of felt like a family!

Fall 2018 - Professor Raia is absolutely amazing. Although there is quite a bit of writing (easy though) each week it is easy to get through. She is funny and the class ends up all being friends (but not in a cheesy way). Material is super interesting and although class is 2 hours it feels like its only a 50 min session. Highly recommend, easy marker and allays making us laugh.
