Field Marine Ecology

Description: Lecture, five hours; laboratory, 15 hours. Recommended requisites: courses 100, 122. Offered either as 4- or 8-unit five-week intensive course given off campus as part of Marine Biology Quarter that is in residence at research station located within U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii. Survey of current topics in marine ecology, including analysis of primary research literature combined with field study of ecology of marine organisms, populations, communities, and ecosystems. Original research project required. Letter grading.
