Elements of Theoretical and Computational Biology

Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour; laboratory, two hours. Requisites: Life Sciences 1, 2, 3, 4, 23L, and Mathematics 3A, 3B, and 3C, or 31A and 31B, or Life Sciences 30B. Strongly recommended: elementary statistics course. Introduction of basic core mathematical ideas and models necessary to understand contemporary ecology and evolutionary biology. Population ecology and growth, community ecology, population genetics, natural selection. P/NP or letter grading.
