Field Physiological Ecology of Desert Animals

Description: Fieldwork, 15 hours. Requisite: Life Sciences 1 or 7B. Recommended: course 100. Two weeks of off-campus research projects with two-week lecture course (four hours per day) and offered only as part of Field Biology Quarter. Consideration of physiological, behavioral, morphological, and ecological mechanisms desert animals use to enhance their survival in arid habitat. Students carry out supervised research projects, then write up and orally present their results in seminar fashion. Letter grading.
